ABOUT ME

Some musicians find one instrument and go deep. I went wide. Over the years I've built a musical life that moves freely between Drums, Bass, Percussion, Guitar, keyboards and as of late, several horns. Drawing inspiration from genres like Rock - Reggae - Soul - Funk and Jazz and the honest simplicity of acoustic sound, I’ve developed my own musical voice over the years.

I'm also a recording engineer, which means I hear music on two levels at once — as a performer feeling it in the room, and as a technician hearing every layer that makes it breathe. That double perspective shapes everything I make.

Based in Asheville North Carolina, I’m constantly looking for live performance situations and also in-studio collaborations that continue to push the boundaries of my own musical expression.

A LITTLE HISTORY

Born and raised in Ithaca New York, where Ithaca College and Cornell University brought in a wide range of musical influences because of the constant ebb and flow of students and professors from around the world, created some extremely diverse and professional musical performances during my formative years in 1960s and 1970s.

Growing up in that environment, I attended shows by world class performances that helped shape my musical tastes. Not to mention the college and local radio stations of the time that played a wide range of musical styles. All of these influences helped form my musical inlfuences and direction.

From my first rock trio in Junior High School to going on the road with my teenage idols, the group Orleans (Hits include "Still The One", "Dance With Me" and ":Love Takes Time"). In my early 20s I moved to Woodstock NY and worked with such luminaries as Mick Ronson (David Bowie's original guitarist) and Robbie Dupree (Hits include "Steal Away" and "Hot Rod Hearts") and did recording work with Todd Rundgren and others on TV show soundtracks and other recording projects through the 1980s.

After getting married and having children in the late 80s, I moved back to my hometown of Ithaca NY and in 1995 got a job with Glyph Technologies (www.glyphtech.com). I was employee number 4 at the company and stayed there for 5 years and helped grow the company to multiple employees and multi million dollars in sales. Glyph was one of the pioneers in digital storage products for the music industry and also film and telivision as the digital revolution charged on.

Always playing and recording through all the changes, I met up with Samite Of Uganda (www.samite.com) and started recording and touring with him for several years through the early 2000s playing Bass and Percussion and engineering and editing some of his recording sessions.

I moved to Asheville NC in 2023 with my wife Bonnie and I have been getting involved in the vibrant local music scene in that area and continuing my lifelong passion with music and recording, onward!...
